‘The Fear Of 13’ in competition at this years BFI London International Film Festival

The Fear Of 13, Director David Sington, Sound Design & Mix Vincent Watts, UK distribution Dogwoof.

In this film the sound design I created has an extremely important role and is at the forefront of the audio-visual experience.   As the main protagonist tells his story directly to camera the sound world, whilst avoiding being too literal, sonically illustrates the narrative.  With the use of drones and more abstract sound treatments the soundscapes that emerge are often metaphorical and emotive- more akin to a ‘music concrete’ score or contemporary ‘ambient electronica’.
